Shoe adventures

I'm a bit late to the pointy shoe party but hey, this is a style diary and not a fashion blog, so I figured it's okay ^.^

Where my beloved round toe pumps can easily make an outfit more sweet and girly, pointy toe pumps can - especially in darker colors - introduce an element of vampy-ness (yes, that is a word in Nitaland) and more grown up glamour to outfits, something I've enjoyed experimenting with lately.

Besides, I'm not one to say no to shoe adventures so I went ahead and picked two pairs to try out this trend:

Left is Givenchy, right is (you guessed it) Diane Von Furstenberg.

Velvet, gold accents, island platforms... I'm sort of in love.

They aren't as painful to walk in as I thought they'd be: I wore them around the house a bit and I can still feel my toes, which is more than I can say about some other shoes I own. I was a bit worried about the relatively thin heels but it's manageable. I wouldn't wear these to go hiking, but life's too short to only buy shoes I can walk in for miles - in my opinion.

That being said:

Dark glossy soles on both pairs. Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my latest buys.

Thanks for the visit guys ♥

  3. I'd totally want to see your whole shoe collection, it's a pair here and there, but I suspect you have quite a selection of the cutest shoes I've ever seen. :) I love these, but I try to avoid pointy ones because I'm obsessed with making my feet look as small as possible, which is easier with round ones. I even think my feet look too big in flats, so I tend to favor heels. XD Even though I guess that UK 5 - 6 is not that big :/ Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing you wearing these in outfit photos!

  4. You really do have the most beautiful shoe collection I've ever seen. Both of these pairs are beauties! I especially like the lace up pair :)

  7. i love your blog and style. gives me lots of ideas and confidence.
one warning on pointy toe shoes from a woman who is older and knows what they do to feet: beware!! pointy toes, particularly on high heels, do terrible things to feet (and backs, as far as the heels go). i didn't know the long-term effects when i was wearing them years ago and wish i had been warned...bunions and hammer toes. ewww and owwww.

    1. Thank you Zendegy :)

Honestly, having worn these shoes a little bit in the last few weeks, I have to say they hurt my feet more than other heels with round toes... I don't even want to think what my feet would be like if I wore them a lot! I'll stick to my beloved round toe heels, defintiely!
